LEARN MORE ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE ATLAS GROUP

In 1976, Hopeton Earle Pessoa, a Banking Executive, acquired a Doberman puppy, whom he named "GINA". Being an ardent lover of the Canine species, Hopeton decided that Gina was special and that he would spare no efforts in harnessing her intelligence. He bought Video cassettes and every possible book on dog training and embarked on a training programme. Gina was a master pupil who absorbed everything she was taught. Hopeton was always proud and willing to demonstrate her skills to those who requested.

It was at one of these demonstrations that the Manager of a Fast Food restaurant impressed by what he saw, asked Hopeton if he would consider hiring to him Gina, to provide security at his restaurant. Reluctantly, Hopeton agreed and the venture was a tremendous success. Obviously after this, there were many requests for Gina's service.

Over the next few years, Gina produced six puppies and Hopeton bought the entire stock of National Kennels from well known Trainer, Exdol Mignott, this increased his operation to thirty-five dogs.

THE BIRTH OF ATLAS PROTECTION LIMITED

The growth necessitated the formalization of his operations and Hopeton chose the name Atlas Protection Limited, after the Greek God of mythology.

As the violence increased in the late 1970's, so did the information about the high quality of service provided by Hopeton and his Canine Crew. The demand for service was tremendous and with plans of increasing his operations, Hopeton acquired premises at Trevennion Road in Kingston. At this new location, Atlas introduced the services of Armed and Unarmed Guards.

As the Company's reputation for high quality, professional services grew, the first branch office was opened in Ocho Rios in 1986, to serve the North Coast.
